Exam-ready governance, risk, and compliance support

ASE joins prime teams delivering audit readiness and internal controls work for federal agencies — controls assessment, evidence tracing, findings remediation, and audit sustainment. Founder-led, remote nationwide, and available as a subcontractor or teaming partner.

Services

We support prime contractors and the agencies they serve across four focused capabilities.

We prepare clients and their evidence for audit, working alongside the independent auditors and CPA firms who render the opinion; we do not perform audits or attest work.

Compliance, controls & audit sustainment

Our exam-readiness core: we test controls, trace evidence, remediate findings, and close gaps ahead of financial regulatory exams and federal audit or OIG reviews, so findings don't surprise you. The work does not end at the opinion — we support later cycles by monitoring whether controls still operate, closing findings so they stay closed, and keeping evidence current between audits rather than rebuilt before each one.

Governance & risk advisory

We build risk frameworks, policies, and governance structures, including for AI use, and align controls to enterprise risk management, so examiners and auditors see a clear line from risk to control to evidence.

Compliance technology & automation

We replace spreadsheet-driven compliance work with automated workflows for access reviews, evidence collection, and reporting, cutting manual effort and error.

Program & project delivery support

We help coordinate the workstreams that keep remediation plans, audits, and modernization efforts on schedule, with reporting your prime and agency leads can rely on.

Differentiators

01

Regulated-industry risk and controls discipline

Our founder brings first line of defense (1LOD) experience inside a large, examined financial institution, including producing the evidence examiners request.

02

Government compliance fluency

Alongside that, direct experience with OMB compliance and program-risk work, grounded in hands-on government program delivery.

03

Modernization built in

We combine risk and controls discipline with automation and data tooling — Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Python, and AWS — to build compliance workflows that are repeatable rather than reassembled.

About

Allana Steele Enterprises™ (ASE) provides business management consultancy services to federal, state, and local agencies, councils of government, and their prime contractors.

Audit readiness is usually built for an event, then rebuilt the next cycle, because the evidence was assembled rather than produced. ASE starts from the opposite assumption: a control that only works when someone is watching is not a control, and evidence that has to be reconstructed every year was never really there. That view comes from where the firm's background sits — risk and controls work inside a heavily regulated, routinely examined industry, paired with direct government program-compliance experience. In both, the audit never really ends.

ASE is founder-led. We help clients strengthen controls, manage risk, and prepare for audits and examinations — joining prime teams as a subcontractor or teaming partner, and working directly with agencies on micro-purchase and simplified acquisition tasks. We bring readiness discipline and automation so evidence is ready when auditors ask and controls keep working between audit cycles.
